On November 4, 2022, Jacob Steinberg presented the story of the remarkable attempt by an extraordinary individual who attempted to save 125,000 European Jews during the Holocaust by settling them in two of the most remote and uninhabitable parts of Australia. Co-sponsored by the Canadian Institute for Jewish Research, the Canadian Antisemitism Education Foundation, Kulanu US, Beit Rayim Synagogue & School, Jewish Majorca, and Adath Israel Congregation.

Join us for a personal journey of centuries of Jewish history in the Dutch Caribbean Island of Curacao. Our speaker Ron Gomes Casseres, a leader of the historic Mikve Israel-Emanuel community, will lead us through the rich social and cultural history and practices of this unique Sephardic Jewish community.
